Argao is a large municipality of about 60.000 inhabitants and not yet overflowed by tourists. You will get easily in touch with the locals, as
they are very friendly and open to visitors..

The center of the municipality is the market place, the church with a small park, municipal hall and post office.

It is very interesting to visit the market, so you can get an impression of the typical life in the rural areas..

Every Sunday is market day in Argao. Farmers and dealers meet, in order to offer their goods.
The pallet full of
tobacco leaves - dried by nature medicine and of manual work, rice and tropical fruits, fish, dried as well as fresh … useful for everyday life.

You will not find any disco houses or bars. Besides typical Filipino beerhouses, where you can taste local dishes, there is not much to
offer.

Nearby Argao you can visit the "Riverstone Castle" . The Castle is made up of stones collected by the nearby river.
Outside the castle, there´s a mini zoo, a collection of monkeys, snakes, rabbits and other amazing animals.
